The Halifax Rainmen handed the Island Storm
their first loss of the season winning 101-83.
The Rainmen, rained all over the Storm in NBLCanada action Saturday night at the Scotiabank Centre, as they came out strong,
taking a 12-0 lead over the Storm and rounding out the half with a 19
point lead.
The Rainmen were able
to take possession of the ball, run the court with it, and score a total of 42
points inside the paint. Offensively, they were able to move the ball quickly
up the court and overshadow the Storm’s defense to get the ball inside the basket.
The Storm did take the lead over the Rainmen in the third quarter, but not for
long, the Storm slipped the ball too many times to the Rainmen,
allowing the Rainmen to
capture 24 points from turnovers. The
Storm gave up too many missed
opportunities when it came to scoring on the offense.
Five players scored points in the double-digits
for the Rainmen, including, 6'8 Power
Forward, Michael Martin who led the scoring with 19 points. Martin
played 23 minutes and shot 77% from the free throw line.

rebounds, and shot 83% from the free throw line.
