Saint John Mill Rats vs. Moncton Miracles
The Mill Rats make it four in a row with a 116-113 win against the Miracles in Thursday night NBLC action.
The Mill Rats improve to 11-13 on the season, while the Miracles slide to 6-15.
Darin Mency and Kenny Jones pitched in 23 points apiece on the night, while Johnny Mayhane led the pack with 31 points, and Jeremy Williams pulled down 10 rebounds to add to his 15 points.
Stanley Robinson led the way for the Miracles with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Troy Brewer and Dwayne Smith each added 18 points on the night and Smith pulled down an impressive 12 rebounds.
DaQuan Brooks scored 11 points off the bench and Trayvon Lathan added 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Mill Rats and Moncton Miracles meet again on Saturday, January 24th on the Mill Rats home turf at Harbour Station, can they make it five in a row? Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
Halifax Rainmen vs. Mississauga Power
The Rainmen went 0-2 on their Ontario road trip, as the Mississauga Power washed them out, 114-85.
Warren Ward of the Power had a successful night with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, off the bench. Tyrone Garland added his 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists to the Power win, while Travis Releford netted 16 points, 9 rebounds, 20 assists.
The Power improve to 6-14 on the season, while the Rainmen go double-digits, 11-11. Mississauga's next game is against the Windsor Express, Saturday, January 24th. Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
Tyrone Watson came up with 24 points for the Rainmen, off the bench, while Kevin Young notched 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The Rainmen head back home and will host the Saint John Mill Rats on Sunday, January 25th. Tip-off time is 2 p.m.
