The now-former National Basketball League of Canada Commissioner handed in his resignation over Twitter on Friday.

The NBLC answered back to the resignation through an email sent later in the day. In the email, the league claimed they had already terminated Riley's contract back in January.

Riley has been commissioner of the NBLC since the start of the 2013-14 season.
