The Week That Was - Feb. 9

TOP STORY

The Windsor Express managed an impressive 2-1 record this past week, thanks to a pair of wins
against Central Divison rivals in the London Lightning.

The Express have been a bit of an enigma this season. They started the campaign 0-2, only to play some uninspiring .500 basketball through the month of January. February, on the other hand, has started out much more promisingly.

Their 114-93 win over the league-best Lightning in Clash of the Colosseum was arguably their best performance of the season, followed by a tight 89-88 loss in Orangeville.

Brandon Robinson has emerged as one of the early favourites for MVP, sitting at 23ppg and 7rpg.

The question is: Can the Express finally match expectations in February?

- Came up big in Moncton's win over the Storm (18 points, five steals)

G - Tony Bennett (Windsor) 14ppg, 11apg, 1.5 steals
- Windsor's go-to point guard came up big on the week Adrian Moss left the club

F - Stephen Maxwell (London) 17ppg, 11rpg
- Another consistent performance from one of league's most all-around forward

F - Gabe Freeman (Saint John) 20ppg, 9rpg
- Saint John's leader in points and rebounds led the Mill Rats to a pair of crucial road wins

C - Anthony Stover (Saint John) 10ppg 13rpg, 6bpg
- NBL Canada's Player of the Week averaged 13 rebounds and six blocks
