Halifax 119-107 London
The Halifax Hurricanes took arguably the biggest game of their season so far on Thursday when they handily beat the Central-leading London Lightning by a score of 119-107.The Hurricanes, who led for almost all of the game, held a considerable lead through the first half. Despite a third quarter push from the Bolts, the Atlantic Divison's top team was able to close out the game in the fourth, in part thanks to a 10-0 run to start the frame.
Halifax's win was highlighted by an impressive 54% field goal percentage and a dominating 56 points in the paint.
London's ball control became an issue, as the Bolts gave up the ball 20 times leading to 31 Halifax points.
Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes and the game with 29 points and nine assists. Stephen Maxwell led the Lightning with 22 points and 17 rebounds.
Halifax's win means the two teams, who have led their respective divisions for almost the entire season, split their season series 1-1.
London (22-13) will now head back home to host Orangeville on Saturday. Halifax (24-9) will be right behind them, heading to Windsor to take on the Express on Saturday.
