2016 NBLC Playoffs -- Divisional Semi-Finals -- May 8, 2016

Saint John 116-114 Moncton
(Saint John Wins 3-1)

The Saint John Mill Rats avoided a fifth and deciding game against Moncton, slipping past the Miracles 116-114 to win their first NBLC playoff series in franchise history.

Rob Spon's side had control for most of the game, going into half with an 11-point lead. Despite an impressive fourth quarter from the Miracles, the Mill Rats were able to hold on in order to take the series in four games.

Chris Smith led the Mill Rats with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

The Mill Rats will take on Halifax in the Atlantic Division Final.

Halifax 91-83 Island
(Halifax Wins 3-0)

The Halifax Hurricanes swept the Island Storm on Sunday, taking down their Atlantic Division Semi-Final 91-83 in Charlottetown.

The Hurricanes kept the pressure on the Storm in their defensive battle, shooting well (44%) and utilizing their depth (47 points off the bench.)

Terry Thomas led the Storm and the game with 20 points. He also chipped in 10 rebounds. Six Halifax players had 10 or more points, with Justin Johnson (19) once again leading the way for the top-ranked Hurricanes.

Halifax will take on the Mill Rats in the Atlantic Division Final.
