Windsor 102-100 Orangeville

The Windsor Express notched a tight a 102-100 win at home against the Orangeville A's on Sunday. Windsor managed to narrowly pull out the win in the last minute of a back and forth game.  Only down seven at half, O'Ville would outscore the Express in the second half. However, it was too little too late as they would lose this game by just two points. Two free throws with five seconds left in the game by Chris Commons would seal the Windsor victory.

This win puts the Express two games over .500 at 15-13. Orangeville fell to 8-17 on the season. The A's needed a win to keep pace with Niagara for the third seed in the Central but failed to do so.

Windsor was led by big man Chris Commons who had a bounce-back game of 31 points on 13-19 shooting. Tony Bennett chipped in a near triple-double with 19 points, a game-high nine rebounds, and seven assists. Having an efficient game off the bench was Kirk Williams Jr with 18 points and seven rebounds. Brandon Robinson scored 17 points and hit three triples for his squad in the victory.

In a losing effort, Dominic Cheek led his A's in scoring with 24 points, he also hit six shots from beyond the three-point line. Leading his team in rebounds (eight) and assists ( seven), Bilal Benn scored 17 points on the night. Justin Moss and Tyron Watson each chipped in 14 points for Orangeville.  Rounding out the scoring was Rick Bodiford's 12 points.

Island (9-15) at Saint John (14-9)

The struggling Saint John Mill Rats lost their fourth game in a row today in embarrassing fashion against the Island Storm.  The Storm managed to beat the Mill Rats by 45 points.  The game was never close between the two Atlantic division opponents.  The Mill Rats gave up 81 points in the second half alone.

With the win, the Island Storm break double-digit wins, sitting at 10-15 on their season.  Saint John's fourth loss puts them at 14-10.  it was a great defensive effort on the Storms part as they held the leagues best offense (Mill Rats average 109 points per game) to under 100 points.

In the win, 7 players scored in double digits for the Storm.  Morgan Lewis had his best game of the season, scoring a team high 21 points while gathering in 8 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists.  Malcom grant had an impressive double-double of 20 points and a game high 12 helpers.  Both sophomore guard Rashad Whack and Tirrell Baines both added 19 points in the victory.  Big man Brian Addison continued his impressive play with 18 points.  Brent Jennings scored 15 points on 4-5 shooting from downtown.  Center Chad Posthumus had a double-double of  12 points and a game high 11 rebounds for his Storm team.

Gabe Freeman continued his MVP level play with a team high 18 points and 8 rebounds.  Former New York Knick Chris Smith scored 17 points for his Mill Rats while defensive stopper Anthony Stover had 13 points, 9 rebounds and an incredible 6 blocks.  Ricky Volcy (12) and Garrius Holloman (10) both scored in double digits for their team.
