Niagara 113-103 Orangeville
The Niagara River Lions won their second game in a row on Saturday, taking down the Orangeville A's 113-103 to take third in the Central Division. The win ended Orangeville's three-game win streak.
The River Lions led most of the game and held the A's offense to a poor 39 percent shooting from the floor The A's would rally late in the fourth, outscoring Niagara 27-21 in the final frame.
With the victory, Niagara claimed the third seed in the Central with a 10-17 record. The A's fell to fourth with a record of 8-16.
Leading the charge for Niagara was recent acquisition BJ Monteiro. The 6'6" wing almost tallied a triple-double, scoring a team-high 21 points with eight assists and nine rebounds. Point guard Sammy Zeglinski also nearly recorded a triple-double as he posted 20 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds. Logan Stutz scored 17 points on the night while Samuel Muldrow (15), Clinton Springer-Williams (12), and Mike Allison (10) also notched double-digit point totals.
In only his second game of the season, forward Tyrone Watson lead the A's for the second straight game with a team and game high 25 points. Da'Quan Brooks continued his excellent level of play, posting another double-double of 17 points and 11 assists. Canadian forward Richard Amardi put in another great scoring effort, posting 18 points. Bilal Benn added a double-double of 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds while also dishing out an impressive seven assists. Despite shooting 4-13 from the field, Louis Munks added 14 points. All his field goals were threes.
